Interview with Seattle author-blogger Molly Wizenberg of Orangette

After reading about her in Sunset magazine earlier this year, I heard Wizenberg speak at the University of Washington (where I happened to be visiting a panel called “Journalism on the Brink” – see my May 11 post). She was there to discuss her recently published book, “A Homemade Life,” which grew from her popular food blog, Orangette.

Wizenberg and her husband opened a wood-fired pizza place in our neighborhood this summer. [Video links here and here, with Molly and husband offering pizza making tips.] After numerous failed attempts to eat at Delancy, where there was always a line out the door, we finally got in last night – my wife, our two sons, and our friend Carmel, visiting from San Francisco. Our food – four pizzas, two salads, and a plate of gooey burrata cheese among four of us – was worth the 30-minute wait. So I decided it was time to finally post this interview I did with Wizenberg earlier this year, in which she talks about the writing life of a blogger-turned-author.
